Dr. Mension combines a solid medical background with high-level clinical experience and academic involvement, standing out for his human, up-to-date, and multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of breast cancer and gynecological oncology.

Academically, he holds a Doctorate in Medicine with honors (Cum Laude) from the University of Barcelona, with a thesis focused on genitourinary syndrome of menopause in breast cancer survivors—a field to which he has contributed both clinical and research perspectives. Additionally, he has postgraduate training in Breast Pathology and Senology, a Master’s in Hospital Management, a fellowship in breast oncologic surgery, and solid preparation in oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as research methodology.

His outstanding training is endorsed by the BRESO certification (European Breast Surgical Oncology Certification), which certifies him as a breast surgeon in accordance with the most demanding European standards.

In the research field, Dr. Mension has published scientific articles in specialized journals on gynecology and breast cancer, and participates regularly in international conferences related to breast surgery. His work focuses on the intersection between oncoplastic surgery and women’s health, areas in which he is also accredited as a researcher in women’s health and human reproduction.

Throughout his career, he has built a professional reputation based on surgical excellence, academic rigor, and an international outlook. His curriculum reflects a constant commitment to innovation in breast and gynecologic surgery, as well as to the comprehensive training of future specialists.

Background

Dr. Eduard Mension is a specialist in oncoplastic breast and gynecologic surgery, and has built a career that skillfully balances clinical practice, teaching, and research. He currently works as a surgeon at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, where he also serves as secretary of the Breast Cancer Unit, one of the most internationally recognized centers in the field of breast oncology.

His training and experience include stays at world-renowned centers such as the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, where he perfected advanced techniques in breast and gynecological surgery. He also combines his clinical work with teaching, serving as a lecturer in Grade in Medicine and the Master’s in Breast Cancer at the University of Barcelona, passing on his specialty knowledge to new generations of professionals.
